the dishes will just keep piling up

the washing needing to be done

when it’s all said and done

will we ever remember?

the mess

or will the messiness of our lives

be the joy that we

shared

muddy toes

torn clothes

is that the nectar

we taste but cannot see

the to do list

that never ends

once completed

another added

the memory

keeps only moments

smiles

hugs

tantrums and tears

beating hearts and big fears

when it’s all said and done

will we ever remember?

the schedule

the lists

the pressure

the stress

or

just the warmth

comfort

of a messy life

we

shared
